Engagement: Gaming serves as a primary source of entertainment, relaxation, and a remedy for boredom for the majority of gamers, with 73% playing for fun and 64% for stress relief.
Expenditure: Financial investment in gaming is noteworthy, with 63% of gamers having made a purchase related to gaming. The amount spent varies, with 29% spending between $2 to $5 monthly, illustrating a willing but cost-conscious gamer base.
Navigating the Barriers: The report also identifies barriers to gaming purchases, with 47% preferring free games and 44% citing a lack of funds. The cost-related challenges extend beyond purchases, as gamers list the cost of data bundles (42%) and expensive gaming hardware (31%) among their top challenges.
A Call for Cultural Representation: Over half of the respondents value cultural relevance in games, and a substantial 44% feel there are not enough games with characters that look like them or environments similar to their life, signaling an untapped market for local content creation.
In-Game Advertising Insights: Despite mixed feelings about ads in games, a surprising 63% have made a purchase after seeing an ad in a game. This suggests that while ads may be met with some resistance, they remain a potent tool for engagement and monetization within the gaming ecosystem.

Data indicate that instructors rarely teach about hostility in the classroom, although most feel efficacious to do so. Moreover, findings indicate an instructor is more likely to teach about hostility toward the press the more they see it as an issue and have encountered it personally as a journalist—particularly women faculty. Thirdly, establish challenges experienced by congregants and the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri regarding the use of digital media for evangelization during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study employed the explanatory sequential mixed methods design using the questionnaire and interviews. A purposive sampling was applied based on the following criteria, first having participated in the online evangelization in the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri during the COVID-19 pandemic, and secondly based on their online evangelization experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. A sample size of 370 was randomly analyzed. The quantitative data collected was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 27) software mainly through descriptive statistics with the results being presented with the aid of tables, whereas quantitative data which is in the form of audio was transcribed to text and coded to make it easier to analyze. The study established that the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri can do better to improve its use of digital media for evangelization during situations of pandemics such as COVID-19, respondents called for better technical support to ensure uninterrupted communication (no downtimes) while other respondents called for more interactive digital content for them to feel more involved and for more varied content formats. A notable gap in the Archdiocese's digital media strategy is the absence of comprehensive policies and resource toolkits specifically designed for digital media evangelization. The study recommends that there should be clear governing policies and guidelines in radio, print, social media, and other communication channels." (Abstract)

The prevalence of abuses of digital technology generated a need for legislation to foster a safe environment for those who use online platforms. Malawi’s Electronic Transactions and Cybersecurity Act 2016 is one such legislation aimed at creating a free and safe online environment. Nevertheless, concerns arise regarding the influence and relevance of this Act in Malawi, with certain sections blaming its application for curtailing freedom of expression online. This study sought to investigate the influence of Malawi’s Cybersecurity Act 2016 on online evangelisation among young Catholics in Blantyre. The study had three objectives. First, to explore the motivations and experiences of young Catholics in Blantyre as they engage in online evangelisation. Secondly, to investigate the influence of Malawi’s Cybersecurity Act 2016 on online evangelisation efforts by young Catholics. Thirdly, to assess the perceptions of young Catholics regarding the relevance of Malawi’s Cybersecurity Act 2016 in fostering safe online evangelisation. The researcher employed two theories; Diffusion of Innovation and the Chilling Effects theory of social conformity to rigorously explore the purpose of the study. Participants in this study were purposively sampled and four focus group discussions (FDGs) comprising five and seven participants were chosen for the study. The findings have revealed that there is a significant presence of the youth online platforms that are adopting online evangelisation. It also discovered that there are chilling effects resulting from the political weaponisation of the cyber laws contained in the Act. Consequently, the relevance of the Act in fostering a safe environment was questioned as it is compromised. The researcher recommended further research on other demographics and using different research methods may give a more comprehensive picture of the influence of cyber law on online evangelisation." Symptoms of PTSD were assessed, in the first language of participants, with validated versions of the Revised Impact of Event Scale (* = .96) and PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (* = .96) and symptoms of depression with validated versions of the Beck Depression Inventory-Revised (* = .92). Data were analyzed using linear mixed models to take into account inherent between-study differences. Results: Mean age and work duration were 39.12 (SD = 9.58) and 14.64 (SD = 9.13) years, respectively. Most journalists were male (66.27%), university educated (82.23%), and in a relationship (56.12%). While symptom severity scores varied considerably across studies, three variables were found that predicted symptoms of PTSD and depression in all studies, namely being female, single, and having a past history of psychiatric difficulties. Conclusions: News organizations have a moral obligation to care for journalists sent into harm's way. The identification of risk factors for symptoms of PTSD and depression common to journalists irrespective of the nature of the conflict covered, degree of exposure to conflict, and differences in language and culture is an important step in promoting this duty of care. s no significant relationship between civic education radio programmes and the behaviour of the youth in Freetown Sierra Leone”, was the hypothesis that guided the research; and the Chi-squire test formula was used to test this hypothesis. The study was anchored on the Uses and Gratifications theory, the social responsibility theory and the social learning theory. A descriptive research method was used to implement this study. The youth of Freetown, from ages 15 to 35 years, as of 2021, a total of 248,508 was its population. Using the Taro Yamane’s formula for sampling, 393 respondents were arrived at for the sample size. The copies of the questionnaire were distributed to these respondents; and 11 oral interview questions were drawn as guide for data collection. The Cronbach’s alpha reliability test was used, with 0.73 result, and simple frequency/percentage analysis was used for analysis. The major findings of the study included: Civic education radio programmes were available for the consumption of the youth in Freetown. However, they had little or no effect on their behaviour as there were rampant uncivil behaviour, violence during elections, and public property vandalism amongst others. The work concluded that with continuous investigation, analysis and assessments, these programmes could be restructured to meet the desired impact on the behaviour of the youth. The study recommended, amongst others, that transistor radios be provided for the youth who could not afford digital and internet facilities, the designing and production of civic education programmes must involve trained personnel and the targeted audience together, and that civic education radio programmes should be included in the curricula of the schools." about the amount and nature of online and offline abuse, threats and violence experienced by journalists at Aotearoa New Zealand's largest news media company, Stuff. All respondents had experienced abuse, violence and/or threats, which they widely considered to be part of the job, but women received more identity and appearance-based abuse and men experienced more in-person threats of, and actual violence. Gender plays a part in how the journalists cope with the abrasive abuse received because of their job, with many more women and particularly Maori women considering leaving the profession. In line with calls for more intersectional analysis of journalists’ workplace experiences, our study considers the complex and nuanced ways that ethnicity intersects with gender to shape Maori and Pakeha journalists’ encounters with abuse, threats and violence. For instance, our subset of Maori women journalists experienced the highest rates of offline threats and violence." (Abstract)
