f the dangers and problems encountered in their work are important evidence on which efforts to improve the situation can be based. But it is not sufficient, indeed not right, to leave practitioners alone in this struggle. One resource that could make a valuable contribution is research. But what is or could be the role of researchers in the context of improving the safety of journalists? Why should the research community include this topic in their research agenda? Perhaps the main argument can be derived from the Finlandia Declaration, which was accepted on the UNESCO World Press Freedom Day in Helsinki in May 2016. It states, among other things, that “the right to information is critical for informed decision-making” (Finlandia Declaration 2016). The Declaration of course refers to what professional and citizen journalists and other media workers are doing, but at the same time, this statement actually applies to what scientific research can do: accu mulate reliable and accurate information about the obstacles to exercising the right to information. In this respect, journalists’ work and researchers’ studies on journalists’ work complement one another and serve the same purpose, that of making our world a better place for citizens." (Page 141)

The goal of the “‘I Love My Country:’ Promoting Localized Understanding and Peaceful Coexistence in South Sudan” project is to build greater understanding and application of key concepts embodied within the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (ARCSS) through key stakeholder meetings, participatory theater performances, civil society engagement, small-scale peace initiatives, short media productions, and radio drama production and broadcast. The project began on December 15, 2016 is expected to end on June 15, 2018. The purpose of the “‘I Love My Country’: Strategic Communications for Peace Building in South Sudan” project is “to promote social cohesion, resilience, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts among individuals and communities in South Sudan” by strengthening national platforms for diverse and constructive and promoting peace, tolerance, and reconciliation with key groups and individuals. Search for Common Ground, iHub, UNESCO, and Catholic Radio Network launched the project in November 1, 2014 and it was concluded on March 1, 2017. The objectives of the baseline evaluation for PLUPC are to update the analysis of local conflict dynamics in the targeted zones for outreach activities, collect baseline data for project indicators, to reflect upon the Objectives and Theory of Change (TOC) of the project, and to evaluate potential risks to project participants, implementing staff, and partners. The final evaluation for SCPB seeks to measure changes in key indicators after the implementation of activities, evaluate the project using OECD-DAC criteria (relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability), and provide lessons learned and recommendations to inform future peace building activities in the country." El catálogo, así como la exposición, celebra los méritos de la empresa cultural y educativa llevada a cabo por Acción Cultural Popular durante 47 años. El uso de la tecnología, la implementación de nuevos modelos de enseñanza y la gestión cultural para la transformación de las condiciones de vida en el campo colombiano son analizados desde distintas perspectivas. De lo anterior que se destaquen los análisis sobre la situación socio política de la educación nacional en el contexto de ACPO; la importancia de los principios religiosos y misionales de la institución; el uso de los medios de comunicación en las iniciativas culturales y, finalmente, las peculiaridades que hicieron de Radio Sutatenza un proyecto cercano y comprometido con sus oyentes. Particularmente, destaca el artículo que presenta el Archivo ACPO y describe los contenidos que hacen parte del mismo, así como su importancia en el panorama del patrimonio documental colombiano y la memoria colectiva. A través del conocimiento tentativo que se obtiene de este ensayo, los usuarios podrán adquirir un panorama inicial sobre los contenidos del archivo donado a la Biblioteca en el año 2008, y registrado en el Programa Memoria del Mundo de la UNESCO (MOWLAC) en el 2013.
