"Freedom of expression is a basic human right that is crucial for respectable governance, human dignity and the application of the rule of law. However, due to the circumstances we are currently facing that include the increase in the rate of violence and crimes, it is seriously essential to provide citizens with the information they require in order to establish knowledgeable decisions concerning their lives in specific and their societies in general (Bokova, 2014). Consequently, there is a reliance on traditional news media journalists and social media journalism practitioners as well. But since their safety is threatened; therefore, this might result in a true crisis in terms of deliverable information. As a result, this will lead to a shortage of reporting in terms of news coverage and accountability." (Abstract)
