"Gender and Conflict Sensitive Journalism can be described as a tool for journalists and others who strive to understand conflicts in a larger context. It has been developed from peace and conflict analyses which indicate that the choices journalists make when they are reporting about conflicts affe

ct not only our understanding of the conflict – but also what we perceive to be the solution. This, in turn, affects the conflict and its outcome. It challenges the image of journalists as neutral and objective purveyors of information, and describes media’s relationship with society as symbiotic." (Page 3)

ing a set of principles, an online questionnaire survey that drew on the expertise of practicing evaluators to identify dimensions, factors or characteristics that enhance or impede success in collaborative approaches, and finally a validation phase. The principles introduced here stem from the experiences of 320 evaluators who have engaged in collaborative approaches in a wide variety of evaluation settings and the lessons they have learned. We expect the principles to evolve over time, as evaluators learn more about collaborative approaches in context. With this in mind, we pose questions for consideration to stimulate further inquiry." n en zonas de riesgo.

"Why Create a Theory of Change? It is no longer enough for nonprofits to do “good work.” With growing competition for social change dollars it is absolutely crucial that nonprofits develop their own Theory of Change. Funders, policy makers and board members are increasingly demanding that nonpro

fits explain what social change they are trying to achieve. It used to be enough for a nonprofit to talk about what it produced (or “outputs”), such as meals served in a soup kitchen, hours spent reading to a child, beds provided in a homeless shelter, but that just doesn’t cut it anymore. In a world where there are fewer and fewer dollars and more and more nonprofits fighting for those dollars, people are increasingly asking what a nonprofit organization ultimately exists to do. It is not enough to create outputs. The question must increasingly become, “Did anything really change because of our work? Did the lives of those in our program change, and did the community change?” If you want to raise more money, chart a strategic direction, make your nonprofit more effective, get your board engaged, and achieve your mission, you need a Theory of Change." e the clear message and even used incorrect terminologies. Learning for these experiences, General Election Network for Disability Access (AGENDA) which is the consortium of Jaringan Pendidikan Pemilih untuk Rakyat (JPPR/ People’s Voter Education Network), Persatuan Penyandang Disabilitas Indonesia (PPDI/Indonesian Association of Persons with Disabilities) and International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), took an initiative to develop the Media Guidelines for Reporting on Accessible Elections. This guideline explains about the terminology on disability and accessible election, how to interact with Persons with Disabilities, and how to make the news article on the political rights of Persons with Disabilities. The guidelines also provides the examples of good reporting and the contact information of the Disabled People’s Organizations (DPOs) in Indonesia. We hope the guidelines will be useful for the journalist to report on the Persons with Disabilities, especially to report on the accessible election. By having good and massive reporting on accessible election, we hope the public have more knowledge about the political rights of Persons with Disabilities. As a result of this efforts, the public awareness is increased and together we can advocate the political rights of Person with Disabilities in elections." (Foreword)

In November 2014, the African Media Initiative convened a Consultative Forum of Media Strategies in Nairobi, Kenya. The ensuing discussions helped illuminate other critical concerns and gaps associated with coverage of infectious diseases. These guidelines attempt as well to address those gaps. They are by no means intended as the last word on how best to cover outbreaks of infectious diseases but should be seen as the starting point of an effort to create greater awareness in the realm of journalism to help improve its service to the public." t cleaners living with disabilities; by farmers growing cassava in the Quang Tri highlands. Such stories not only help us understand the diversity of this dynamic country, but can also inform important development decisions that impact the people whose stories most need to be heard [...] CARE believes that a vibrant, diverse society becomes stronger when everyone can equally contribute their voice to decisions that impact them. This is why CARE is using Community Digital Storytelling (CDST); an innovative participatory development approach that enables people to gain knowledge, build their confidence and share their concerns with others who can address them. CDST builds on the full potential of people often unheard; strengthening the wider society in the process. Through Community Digital Storytelling, community members collectively create and share stories in their own language using audio, photos and music. The resulting photo-videos are often 3-5 minutes long and in the local language. These stories are driven by the community members themselves who develop the content and decide what photos best represent the narratives they want to tell." (Page 3)
