n the surrounding organisations. In this article we will put a focus on the ‘user experience’ of multifaith spaces based on an analysis of guestbooks. These books are a unique source of data for a qualitative in-depth analysis as they offer an opportunity for visitors for commentary including religious references and speech acts. Drawing on two case studies from a Room of Silence within a hospital and a Garden of Religions, we investigate how users experience and appropriate multifaith spaces and how guestbooks may become media of (inter-) religious contact." Such an attempt contrihutes towards an action study for the digitization of indigenous culture. The research method combines text teaching with the action research, and the specific multi-teaching through digital documentary. The findings from the study reveal that students learn literature through action research more realistically and accurately, and thereby save indigenous cultures." (Abstract)

"In all Asian cultures, religion plays an irnportant role. How is this expressed and 'communicated' in word and deed, in rituals, but also in the daily life of peoples and their celebrations? dreds of years and is still alive in many ways today. Do modern ways and means of communication, especially also the digital developments change, endanger or even promote such practices? If yes, how? It will be further important to see the communication dimensions of religion in general but also the specifics of holy books like the 'Bible, Qur'an, Upanishads, etc. which are in themselves already communication instruments for proclamation and religious practices. What does all this means for people of today being "permanently online, permanently connected" (Vorderer 2018) and part of a digital world? Can religious beliefs and practices also be transmitted or even 'performed' in and with digital means? How are religions presented and treated in the still existing general, big, also in the individual religion-owned and operated media like Christian, Buddhist, Moslem channels? And beyond single 'means': what could and should be the role of communication in interreligious dialogue for countries like Indonesia with a big Moslem population, Christian-majority Philippines or in a Buddhist country like Thailand? All this should be one way or another a special concern for serious social communication research which seems to not yet exist." (Pages 9-10)

In the process they challenge the technological determinism-the notion that certain types of media generate particular forms of religious expression-that haunts many studies. In evaluating how media usage and religious commitment intersect in the social, cultural, and political landscapes of modern Africa, this collection will contribute to the development of new paradigms for media and religious studies." In religious media communication one observes a tendency not to respect the classical news values, and in fact tends to limit them. This approach makes religious media communic

ation fail at the start. Using textual analysis and qualitative research techniques, e.g., focus groups and Delphi, we investigate some news values relate (positively or negatively) to the religious messages. Here we present three most expressive of them: conflict, scandalousness and story. If messages are formed by news values, then religious messages are formed by means of values that we named the gospel values and can be identified with traditional Catholic Church virtues. Finding possible connections between the news values and the gospel values seems to be one of the basic solutions for the religious message media coding." (Abstract)

oncerns have been raised as to whether a dialogue between the two opposing parties is useful or even possible. The author of the study seeks answers to this question against the backdrop of communication of religious message on marriage, family and homosexuality. Drawing on her previously published studies on media discourse prior to the Slovak referendum on family, as well as previous researches into the key argumentation bases (including ‘human nature’ and ‘manipulation’), the author examines the question using a method of in-depth interviews with the most influential journalists. The study focuses on how to effectively communicate religious messages in public discourse and presents the findings about the misunderstanding on both sides of the dispute. The study also suggests possible solutions. The author affirms that dialogue can make the form of discussion more enjoyable, however it does not lead to resolution of the differences. The study suggests that the ability of communicators to discern between political and non-political advocacy of ideas critical as the former require tougher forms, while the latter softer forms of communication. When used in incompatible contexts, these messages may backfire." (Abstract)
