his volume, and I am delighted that most of them are from the South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE) representing all the seven South Asian countries, five of which are from the Hindu Kush Himalayan region. The 29 chapters in the book are organised under six themes: concepts and models; traditional knowledge and sustainable agriculture; technology adoption; disaster risk reduction; urban sustainability; and alternative livelihoods. These chapters highlight stories of creativity, community engagement, and locally applicable solutions. They are powerful and instructive. They offer valuable lessons for researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers." (Foreword, page xv)

can mobilise and strengthen the movement through inclusivity, creativity, and innovation. This mapping exercise was conducted through an online search and scoping exercise, combined with 16 interviews with artists, artist collectives and civil society organisations using art to advocate climate justice, and 3 donors. We identified 131 changemakers using art as a medium for climate justice advocacy. The types of initiatives, campaigns, platforms, or organisations include galleries and curated content, campaigns and pledges, programmes, and platforms or collaborations. The different initiatives have adopted a wide range of art forms, including visual arts such as paintings or photography, performance arts such as dance and music, and literary arts such as poetry and storytelling." "Following an extreme event with severe impacts, a great deal of public interest is generated in its causes. Increasingly, the dominant question is: "Was this event caused by climate change?" This guide is intended to help journalists navigate this question. First, it introduces the science of 'extr

eme event attribution' - the method of attributing (or not) the degree to which the weather event was influenced by climate change. Second, it lays out the statements that can reliably be made about some of the extreme weather types of greatest public interest, even when no specific scientific study is being performed. This is based on current state-of-the-art knowledge using studies of recent extreme events and the latest IPCC report. Further down, you will find an easy-to-read checklist for each type of extreme weather event. The aim of this guide is to help journalists to accurately report extreme weather events in the context of a warming planet: how can you best inform your audiences about the effects of climate change on the extreme events we are increasingly experiencing, without overstating (or, indeed, understating) the link?" What kind of information and advice is needed to help them adapt? And what message did they want to send to governments and global leaders?" (Page 2)

"In this report, we use online survey data collected in August and September 2022 to document and understand how people in eight countries - Brazil, France, Germany, India, Japan, Pakistan, the UK, and the USA - access news and information about climate change. ross these countries recognise that almost all climate scientists believe that climate change is caused by humans and are worried about the impact, but above and beyond basic understanding of the scientific consensus and recognition of the climate crisis, it is important to understand people's attitudes towards climate change news, including who they trust as sources of information, how climate news makes them feel, and how well they think news media are performing covering it. Finally, we take some preliminary steps in understanding how each of these are correlated with climate change beliefs, attitudes, and behaviours." (Executive summary)

dations of natural language analyses. Second, the report reviews research on NLP of social media text data by showcasing studies that have applied the techniques to the Sustainable Development Goals. Third, the report reviews specific NLP techniques, including data preprocessing, and dicusses libraries and programming procedures. It also reviews concepts such as keyword extraction to identify relevant terms, topic modeling to detect common themes, and text classification to recognize language features. These NLP techniques are showcased in two case studies. The first shows how topic modeling can be applied to derive insights on the public debate over climate change in Australia. The second demonstrates how text classification can be leveraged to analyze public sentiment on COVID-19 in the Philippines. Finally, the report discusses the challenges and limitations, as well as the potentials, of NLP." (Foreword)

Through the lens of data journalism and collaborative journalism, this article relies on methods such as participant observation and indepth interviews to understand the practices, norms, and routines adopted by La Nación to produce data journalism focused on environmental topics. The results indicate three specific pillars for such journalism: climate change, biodiversity, and audience participation. The team sets an agenda based on these topics in light of annual events or large celebrations, resulting in a calendar of proposed activities (the production of data stories or crowdsourcing actions). The data team holds meetings with different individuals and organizations from different sectors to identify distinct perspectives on environmental issues to discuss undertakings and collaborate as needed with these actors. La Nación also emphasizes involving audiences on a deeper level, ransforming their traditional role as passive recipient into active participant." (Abstract)

ate-reporting workshops for journalists to support such reporting. Here, we present the impacts of eight workshops conducted in 2018 and 2019}including participant assessments of the workshop, longitudinal changes in their climate-reporting self-efficacy, and the number and proportion of print and digital climate stories reported. We learned that participants found value in the workshops and experienced significant increases in their climate-reporting self-efficacy in response to the workshops, which were largely sustained over the next 6 months. We found only limited evidence that participants reported more frequently on climate change after the workshops}possibly, in part, due to the impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the news industry. These findings suggest that local climate-reporting workshops can be a useful but not necessarily sufficient strategy for supporting local climate change reporting. Further research is needed to illuminate how to support local climate reporting most effectively." (Abstract)
