"In this book, the case is made for visual management as a method of communications, planning, learning and reporting that connects the organisation in a single, meaningful and seamless way. Throughout this book, visual management is theorised around the position that all forms of management documen

tation are an artefact of human construction and of the organisation itself that reflects learned patterns of activity. The book places visual management as a more intuitive and seamless method of coordinating, learning and communicating across an organisation than more traditional formats of presenting management documents. Consciously assembling the artefacts of an organisation in order to manage it introduces a layer of criticality that encourages reflection and consistency that is often absent from current management practice. The benefits that a visual approach brings to organisational management are an increasing necessity, as machine learning, robotics and process automation remove traditional roles from organisations and necessitate new views on how individuals now fit into a data-informed business." "The purpose of this report is to evaluate the Media Freedom Coalition (MFC) in its first two years of operation, from 2019 to 2021. The MFC is a partnership of 50 countries working together to advocate for media freedom and the safety of journalists. Our independent report is based on over 100 inte

rviews with relevant stakeholders; analyses of news coverage, social media commentary and public statements; and a survey of media freedom campaigners – as well as detailed case studies in Sudan and the Philippines. We find that, after two years, the Media Freedom Coalition is only partially achieving its objectives. It has taken some positive steps towards its ambitious goals including attracting a relatively large membership and establishing collegiate ways of working. However, partly because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the actions of the MFC have not been as rapid, bold, or visible as was initially promised. So far, its working methods have been slow and lacking transparency, its communications poor, its financial commitments small, and its political impacts have been minimal. Overall, the MFC requires a re-set and re-injection of energy and funds in the next two to three years if it is to achieve its original aims." (https://research-portal.uea.ac.uk)

nahmen. Seiten 10-11)

"The framework for selecting appropriate methods of stakeholder engagement is presented here as five steps that can help people who are commissioning or conducting research or evaluations to orient themselves to their context, research purposes and, ultimately, options for stakeholder engagement. e first steps include understanding the value of generalisable evidence (Step 1) and localised evidence (Step 2) for informing decisions. Step 3 recognises the socio-political implications of these different ways of thinking. Step 4 helps researchers identify a starting point by utilising a matrix that signposts various tools and methods. Choosing a starting point depends largely on the following: whether the research findings are for local or general application: Does the knowledge need to be generalisable to many different settings, or is knowledge to suit the local setting sufficient? And: How much clarity and consensus is assumed about what is known when starting out: Is prior knowledge that a study will build on clear and widely agreed before the work begins? Step 5 considers which stakeholders to engage with, and how, when planning and conducting research, depending on the circumstances." (Page 3)
