This bibliography, published in 1971, can be considered the first major collection on international media assistance. It comprises the 2534 titles of the bilingual publication "L'emploi des moyens de communication de masse dans les pays en voie de développement = The use of mass media in the developing countries", published by Jean-Marie van Bol and Abdelfattah Fakhfakh of the Centre Internationale de Documentation Economique et Sociale Africaine (CIDESA) in Brussels. The bibliography includes grey literature, articles and books in French (1,659 titles), English (687 titles) and other languages, especially on the use of media as educational means in Africa and other regions. The commbox version condensed the over 200 topic codes to 71 thematic areas and enhanced the bibliographic quality (spelling corrections, links to online versions etc.) where applicable. The print version can be viewed here.
