It is important to understand that, people handle difficult situations differently and not all members of a community will cope in the same way. People will experience a wide range of reactions when exposed to distressful events, ranging from the mild to the severe. Some can be amazingly resilient. When a group of people share a difficult experience, some are able to work through it and move on with their lives, while others require more support. The purpose of this training is to revise and strengthen your counselling skills, skills you may not even be aware you possess, as well as refine your communication skills. We will review the steps we use in the process of counselling and practice them in various situations." (Introduction)

roach. The brief is organized around the summary matrix on page 2, which identifies four key evaluation design questions and then offers common advocacy evaluation responses to those questions.1 Questions include: 1) Who will do the evaluation? 2) What will the evaluation measure? 3) When will the evaluation take place? 4) What methodology will the evaluation use? For each question, three options or possible responses are given. Options are based on the experiences of advocates, evaluators, and funders who already have responded to these questions and are learning about the benefits and drawbacks of their choices." (Page 1)

ing the communication aspects of the Partnering Cycle. Chapter 8 comprises nine tools that you can use or adapt for your own purposes. Since the manual is about communication, we invited as many contributors as possible to participate in this project, to demonstrate the collaboration that we saw as a vital ingredient of partnering communication. Woven throughout the manual are think pieces that some of these contributors have written. In addition, chapter 9 contains communication stories and communication case studies reflecting the experience of a range of practitioners in the field." (Page 1)

"Blogs are more or less controllable for those who want to keep them under surveillance. Governments that are most up to do date with new technology use the most sophisticated filtering or blocking techniques, preventing them from appearing on the Web at all. But bloggers don't just sit back and let

it happen. The essential question becomes how to blog in complete safety. With a normal IP address, a blogger can be tracked down and arrested. Anonymity allows them to keep their freedom.
In countries where censorship holds sway, blogs are sometimes the only source of news. During the events in Burma in the autumn of 2007, pitting monks and the people against the military junta, bloggers were the main source of news for foreign journalists. Their video footage made it possible to gauge the scale of the protests and what demonstrators' demands were. For more than two months, marches were held in the streets, then a massive crackdown was launched against opponents that only the Burmese were able to show, so hard did it become for the few foreign journalists who managed to enter the country to get back out with their footage. And bloggers could not get the footage out without getting round online censorship imposed by the government. This handbook seeks to help every blogger to fill in the "black holes" In news. The second part is devoted to techniques which can thwart filtering technology." (Page 4-5)

tead, the idea is to prepare up front and evaluate as you go along, so that you may adjust your tactics to ensure success. This guide is an evaluation strategy tool – not a communication planning tool. It will be most useful for those who already have a communication plan in place with clear objectives, messages, strategies and tactics. However, even if you are still in the beginning stages of designing a communication plan, it is never too early to start thinking about evaluation." (About this guide, page 1)
